Newsletter April 2010 ....

It is just 5 weeks until we will be meeting at beautiful Opal Cove for the “Last Warmth of Summer” Retreat.  There are still space for you if you can join us.

It will be exciting to welcome Rosalie Dace from South Africa. She will be coming direct from her third visit as a most popular tutor at AQC in Melbourne. She leads a very busy life, tutoring around the world so I feel privilege that she will spend seven days with us in Coffs Harbour.

Scrap Quilt Odyssey with Brenda Gael Smith
will be a true journey in learning and applying all the traditional patchwork techniques with the option of a contemporary twist. An opportunity for the relative beginner as well as the more experienced to expand their skills.

Land and Sea Scapes featuring water with Lorraine Parker
provides the opportunity to produce silk paper to represent just the perfect water effect that you need, and with photo to fabric transfer, painting and embellishment, you will reproduce one of your special images into a beautiful quilt.

I will be in touch with everyone who has already registered by email after Easter with a checklist to count down so we can all be ready for our magical seven days together.
Have you checked the program for the “Creative Winter Escape” 3 to 10 July. Some of the more popular workshops are very close to full, but hopefully we can find a space just for you.

Until next month  - Cheers from the Be Creative Team.

Newsletter March 2010 ....

Hello Everyone - Hard to believe that MARCH is with us already!!!!!

Just 12 days left now to the close of the early bird discounts for the May Retreat – “The Last Warmth of Summer” 8 to 15 May 2010.

For those who have already booked, I will be in touch soon after the 12 March with more information to help you plan your visit in May.

Just to tempt you!!!!

Friday 12 March – midnight to midnight, a 20% discount is on offer just for this day – REGISTER and arrange payment on the day – by ONLINE , by FAX or by PHONE.
Even though some workshops are close to full, there is still a space for you in all the workshops on the program, at this time, so the choice is yours.

The July retreat ”Creative Winter Escape” 3 to 10 July, is actually proving to be the most popular of the two retreats. I know July seems a far way off at the moment, but you should be thinking about getting your registrations in, so that you are not disappointed and miss out on your first choice.

The DISCOUNT ON OFFER ON FRIDAY 12 MARCH APPLIES TO BOTH RETREATS JUST FOR THIS DAY ONLY.

Check out the workshops for all details of the workshops specially designed by our talent tutors for Be Creative by the Sea 2010.

ACCOMMODATION - Please let me know if you who would like to share accommodation. The resort rooms at Opal Cove Resort are most spacious and it helps in making things less expensive. After all you are only in your room to sleep!!!
There will always be interesting things to do in the evening and the workshop spaces are open until late for those who want to “get ahead” and hopefully take their project home finished.

Please read on if you didn’t catch the February Newsletter

February 2010 ....Happy New Year to Everyone!

I hope you have all had a wonderful festive season.
Now that the children are returning to school we realise that 2010 is well on its way. Bookings have been rolling in for the two Be Creative by the Sea retreats planned for 2010, but now that life is returning to normal, we are ready and waiting for your registrations to arrive if you have not already registered. The different workshops on offer are proving to have wide appeal, having been specially designed by our talented tutors to accommodate different interests and skills.

It is always exciting when familiar names appear on the registration, but the thought of welcoming new friends is equally exciting. Maybe you have a friend that might be interested – please spread the word.

The NEW LOOK Retreats planned are different –mainly three day workshops with the tutor of your choice with a few opportunities in the programs to select one or two workshops. – refer to PROGARM AT A GLANCE.
I couldn’t count the number of times that I have heard at the end of one of the many exciting workshops at Be Creative over the years – “if only we had more time” – “if only we had another day” –“ I wish I could take something home finished”!!!!!!!!!

This is what the NEW LOOK retreats are all about.
Not taking unfinished projects home. You will have more time to set your own goals and work with your chosen tutor through your own creative journey with your own individual results to take home.

Some workshops are very close to full, but all workshops at this time have vacancies so you still have time to join us. The choice is yours!!!!

Rosalie Dace would be one of the most sort -after, high profile tutors in the world – it is really amazing that she will be tutoring for six days at The Last Warmth of Summer Retreat 8 to 15 May.
The Australian tutor, namely Robyn Alexander, Sue Dennis, Lorraine Parker and Brenda Gael Smith are all presenting diverse workshops for the hand embroiderer, the felter, the fabric designer, landscape designer and the traditional patchworker with all catering for the beginner to the more advanced student who looks for a challenge.
Jane Sassaman from the USA is the international guest tutor at the Creative Winter Escape Retreat - 3 to 10 July (NSW school holidays) along with Nic Bridges, Deborah Louie, Liz Scobie, Lisa Walton and Mariya Waters – all offering unique workshops to provide for all different interests and skills.

You can register by phone, post, fax , email or online. Please don’t hesitate to phone or email for advice and workshop availability. I can also help with shared accommodation at beautiful Opal Cove Resort to reduce costs. Please get you registrations in as soon as possible. Don’t be disappointed and it helps so much with the organisation.

Catch the early bird discounts that close on 12 March for the May retreat and 21 May for July retreat.

Looking forward to hear from your soon.
Regards Wendy and the Be Creative Team
